Description

An overview of the prevalence of and risk factors for human trafficking and why we should consider human trafficking a public health issue. We will then discuss how to identify signs of human trafficking and how to intervene.

Learning Objectives: 

  • Understand the definition of HT and how this is different from sex work or prostitution
  • Understand the risk factors for being trafficked
  • Understand how trafficking is the same or different from other forms of sexual violence
  • Learn how to identify trafficking in a medical setting
  • Learn how to respond - who to call, when to call, etc
