PFD Week 2017

Sling Selections and What to do When They Fail!

Oct 5, 2017 1:30pm ‐ Oct 5, 2017 2:00pm

Standard: $40.00
Members: $25.00

The discussion will provide an evidence-based approach to the surgical management of stress urinary incontinence (SUI). Full length midurethral slings are placed via a retropubic or transobturator approach and data exists which may guide an individualized approach. Midurethral slings are the current gold-standard treatment for the primary surgical management and have been used for over 20 years. It is also reasonable to consider that there may be some women who develop recurrent SUI.

Learning Objectives:

  • Compare outcomes with the use of transobturator and retropubic midurethral slings for the treatment of stress urinary incontinence
  • Explore the unique adverse events associated with midurethral slings
  • Discuss surgical approaches to the management of recurrent stress urinary incontinence
